[DRAFT — AWAITING LEGAL REVIEW AND COMPANY DETAILS. NOT YET IN FORCE.]

Who is responsible for your data

[COMPANY NAME], [COMPANY REGISTRATION NUMBER], [POSTAL ADDRESS], trading as Ruben Bell Books, is the data controller for information collected through rubenbellbooks.com.

You can reach me about anything on this page at hello@rubenbellbooks.com.

What I collect, and why

If you sign up to hear when a book is released — your email address, and which world you signed up for. I use it to email you about that release and nothing else. The legal basis is your consent, and every email has an unsubscribe link that works.

If you buy something — your name, email address, delivery address for physical orders, and what you ordered. I need this to send you the book, to send you a receipt, and to keep the accounting records Swedish law requires. The legal basis is performance of the contract, and for the accounting records, legal obligation.

Payment card details never reach me. Payments are handled by Stripe, who process your card directly. I see that a payment succeeded, the last four digits, and nothing more.

If you email me — whatever you write, for as long as the conversation is useful.

Who else sees it

Only the companies needed to actually deliver what you bought:

  • Stripe — payment processing
  • [PRINT SUPPLIER — NOT YET CONFIRMED] — printing and dispatch of paperbacks; they receive your name and delivery address
  • [EMAIL PROVIDER — NOT YET CONFIRMED] — sending release emails and order confirmations
  • [HOSTING PROVIDER — NOT YET CONFIRMED] — running the site and its database

Nothing is sold, rented, or shared with advertisers. There is no advertising on this site.

[INTERNATIONAL TRANSFER BASIS — TO BE ADDED IF ANY PROVIDER SITS OUTSIDE THE EU/EEA]

How long it is kept

Order records are kept for seven years, because Swedish accounting law requires it. Email sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe. Download links expire after 72 hours and are deleted after that.

Cookies

This site uses the minimum needed to work: keeping your basket between pages, and remembering that you accepted this notice. [ANALYTICS AND TRACKING — NONE AT PRESENT. IF ADDED, THIS SECTION AND A CONSENT BANNER MUST BE UPDATED FIRST.]

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask me for a copy of everything I hold about you, ask me to correct it, ask me to delete it, or object to how it is used. Email me and I will answer within a month, usually the same week.

If you think I have handled your data badly, you can complain to Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, the Swedish data protection authority.
